Donate to animal shelters with one click everyday
I first heard of FreeKibble.com many years ago when I started volunteering at my local animal shelter. Mimi Ausland was 11 years old when she created the site and it was acquired by Greater Good years later - I’m excited to know the site is still contributing kibble & litter to shelters across the country.
You’re probably thinking how can I contribute? All you need to do is visit FreeKibble.com and answer a daily trivia question. It doesn’t matter if you answer correctly or not, 10 free pieces of kibble are donated.
How exactly does a click turn into food for homeless pets?
The site has ads and Greater Good Charities pays funds based on the number of trivia questions answered by giving shelters grants.
While 10 pieces of kibble may not sounds like a lot it adds up.
300 pieces of kibble per month
3,650 pieces of kibble per year
Plus, you can contribute to dogs, cats and cat litter as well!
How can I contribute to animal shelters?
While this is one step to contribute to animal shelters with little time, there are many other ways you can contribute to your local shelter:
Donate items on their wishlist through websites like Chewy
Visit AdoptaPet.com to find adoptable cats, dogs, rabbits and more in proximity to your zip code.
Volunteer or foster at local organizations - I find it’s best to search “animal shelters (or rescues) near me” on Google
Donate to a shelter or rescue directly to cover vet bills, medication, food, litter and other animal care expenses that come up each and every day
Give your old towels to a shelter, this can provide a warm bed for a homeless pet and prevent linens from ending up in the landfill. Check first to make sure they could use more towels.
