Earn Gift Cards by Supporting Local Restaurants
Seated is a great app that pays you in gift cards for dining at restaurants in large US cities. I started using it in 2019 before the pandemic and my obsession with this app has only grown.
I’m a millennial living in New York it’s not shocking to guess I spend a lot of money going to restaurants. It’s a way for me to unwind, be adventurous and spend time with friends. However, I still like to be as savvy as possible and save money while dining out. Honestly, Seated sounds too good to be true, but it actually works!
Where can I used the Seated app?
You can download the app if you live in or frequent the following cities: NYC, Boston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago & Dallas. On their website, Seated hints at adding more cities soon.
How does the Seated app work?
Once you download (details and link below? pick your city and start searching by map area, restaurant name or cuisine type for available restaurants. The purpose of the app is to fill tables at restaurants when they aren’t typically full. One of your favorite restaurants that’s busy at brunch but quieter at dinner may not have reservations available at noon but they will at 6pm on a weeknight. If you’re flexible and open to trying new places this app is for you! I find it particularly useful when I’m in a neighborhood I don’t know well and want to try something new.
After you dine you will receive text messages to upload your receipt in order to earn rewards. Rewards often appear in my account within 24 hours, sometimes even sooner. If you spend $50 (pre-tax & tip) at a restaurant with 8% back you’ll earn $4. Nope - this isn’t going to make you rich quickly but it adds up!
In addition to earning by visiting restaurants, Seated might increase referral bonuses or give you extra cash back during certain time periods.
How do I earn money? Is it easy to do?
Now, let’s get to the good stuff! The smallest reward starts at $10 for Amazon and Uber gift cards. I usually save up for travel-related gift cards like AirBnB or Delta that start at $50. I love their gift card options because there is something for everyone. Other options include: Petco, Target, Starbucks, Sephora & more.
